What is AABB’s Standards-Compliant Product Program?
AABB’s Standards Compliant Products Program was launched in late 2019 to support vendors and manufacturers who provide equipment and supplies for transfusion services or blood collection. Upon applying, the specific product is reviewed thoroughly by AABB’s Accreditation Department members before being approved as an “AABB Standards-Compliant Product”.
Why is AABB’s Standard-Compliant Product recognition important?
AABB-accredited facilities must follow strict standards to ensure the safety of all patients and donors. Having a list of products that have achieved ‘AABB Standards-Compliant Product’ recognition or seeing the stamp of approval will give blood bank professionals increased confidence knowing they are using quality products and equipment that help ensure patient safety.
